How it works
Since late 2017, Google picks results based on where it thinks you are, not on the country domain you use. To see another city's results, you can tell Google the location with the uule parameter. Pair it with gl (the country) and hl (the interface language). This tool builds that parameter from Google's own list of location names, so pick a place from the suggestions and the link is ready.
Using it for link building
Local sites such as city blogs, chambers of commerce and local news link to local businesses. In prospect mode, each keyword is searched with footprints like "write for us", "guest post", "resources" and inurl:links in every location. Open each link and note the sites that fit.
FAQ
Is it accurate?
It's close to what a local searcher sees, but not identical. Google still personalises results by account, history and device. For the cleanest view, open the links in a private window.
Why do I have to pick from the list?
Each link carries the exact place in Google's uule parameter. Cities and postal codes are sent as map coordinates, the same way Google's own location tools do, so Google shows results for that spot. Countries and regions use Google's own spelling, such as Punjab,Pakistan. Typing NYC or Lahore finds the right place for you. For postal codes, just type the code, like 10001, 90210, 54000 or SW1A, and pick the country from the list. Postal code data: GeoNames (CC BY 4.0).
